  • Many common viral infections involve skin symptoms.
  • In this Italian case series, 20.4% of inpatients hospitalised with COVID-19 developed cutaneous manifestations.
  • Skin symptoms were mainly seen on the trunk, and included erythematous rash, urticaria, and chickenpox-like vesicles.
  • No correlation was found between cutaneous manifestations and infection severity.
